It's been a busy week here at FAB. Just received a nice video from Nick Wiszynski who won the 1st annual Colon Busking competition. He is in Thailand performing and thought readers would enjoy this little tour. He promises to be back for this year's happening in August.

I received a very nice letter from James Reneaux. James was from the Battle Creek area and had a very successful magic career. Now retired, he has written a nice spot for our book on Percy Abbott: Magical Years. He was friends with some of the greats, Cardini,Blackstone Sr. and many others. My friend James Kessler wrote a wonderful article on him in a M-U-M column a few years ago. We are trying to coax him to come to Colon - and he is thinking about it!

Also, nice talking on the phone with Bill Rauscher (thanks for the order too Bill!) who has written many books on magic and magicians, i.e. Bill Neff,John Calvert and others. We were able to provide him with some rare footage we have of Howard Thurston for a book/dvd he is working on. Watch for it on his website www.mysticlightpress.com where you can read all about Bill.

Weather has been cold here but looking forward to seeing many warm smiles in Colon. I will be lecturing in Lansing for the IBM group there on February 3rd. Hope to see many of you there.

What's In A Name?

It's interesting talking with magicians across this great land of ours. Shows are down - in some areas quite a bit -

During the early 1940's here is what Percy Abbott charged. Interesting. . . especially when you look at inflation and what we really think we are worth.

Nice visit this week with Syd and Linda Abbott. Working on the Percy Abbott book plus something very special about to happen . . . "What's In A Name?" That is the only clue you have. Have fun with this one :)
