Colon , Michigan DDA - Making Magic In The Magic Capital Of The World!

Moving forward given today's economic climate is a challenge to every small town across the United States. However, as the new chairman of the Colon Downtown Development Association, I see nothing BUT positives for this community. It's going to be a team effort to revitalize the downtown and it can and will be done. Everyone on this board understands and loves this community - they want to see it move forward - and so do the citizens of Colon.

Plans are being made NOW to invest in the future - our schools are being remodeled, our new community park is making HUGE strides and it is evident pride is becoming contagious throughout the village. As we enter 2012 we take time to reflect on 2011 and plan for 2012 and beyond. No smoke - no mirrors - no illusions - just hard work and dedication. The next time you are in the area please stop and look around...see what Colon is up to!

Christmas In Colon

Christmas in Colon was a huge success. So much fun to see hundreds of folks visiting our village for what is quickly becoming an annual event. The kids thoroughly enjoyed Krag Ryal's free magic show here in the shop.
Cheryl & Lilly worked hard all week long to create a festive atmosphere here at FAB and with the Christmas music playing in the background the setting was just perfect. Nostalgic Necessities set up 'shop' in the front part of the store with their big fluffy bunny rabbit - it was - a wonderful time. Thanks to all of you that came and we hope to see you here in the magic capital of the world for our 3rd annual Christmas In Colon event.

Merry Christmas from all of us at FAB Magic - thanks for a great year!

175 Years and Counting . . .

I fell in love with Colon, Michigan over 45 years ago and it's history is so fascinating. So you can imagine how excited I was when we were given a collection of hundreds of documents and photographs from Colon's early years. Thanks to Leonard Burnham for everything! What a find - a letter from A. Shelhaus, who founded Colon in 1831 - handwritten deeds and so much more including graduation books, memorabilia and such. We will be posting these items on our soon to be revamped website - www.colonmichigan.org - which gives you an insight into Colon's wonderful history.

Stay tuned!

Halloween in the Magic Capital

Halloween is my favorite time of the year and it's special when you see your grandkids all dressed up and having so much fun. Above Grandma getting Lilly ready as cowgirl to lasso the streets of Colon for some goodies and below is our newest grandbaby, Nadia, who wanted to show Riley how much cuter she was - of course she decided to take a cat ---er ---bunnynap while this pic was taken.

The streets of Colon were full of hundreds of  little goblins and goblinettes. The costume judging contest was loads of fun at the elementary school. It was fun being the emcee and kudos go the Colon Lions Club for passing out the awards (and the doughnuts and cider) - We'll do it all again next year God willing. Hope you and your family had a safe Halloween as well.

Made in A M E R I C A !

In this day of imported products isn't it nice and reassuring to know FAB Magic Mfg. Company makes EVERYTHING in the USA? We hear and see the horror stories of overseas magic poorly designed and constructed and there isn't a week that goes by that we don't receive emails from foreign interests wanting to make our magic. Quite Simply - it won't happen on my watch! We take pride in our line of magic and we build everything from scratch.

We just received a thousand pounds of  top of the line cabinet grade plywood to build our new Clatter Boxes,Tip Over & Rabbit Vanishes and many more items that will be ready within the next few months. FAB Magic takes pride employing local folks. They need jobs and you need quality magic Look around on the internet. Just about every online dealer carries the same stuff - there may be a dollar or two difference in price but it's all the same thing.

Our business plan and mission statement written nearly a decade ago sets in motion our committment to quality and innovation. If there is to be a better mouse trap built - we will do it. Period. No excuses. No apologies. We are human and we do make mistakes - everyday is a learning experience.

I love what the late Steve Jobs told his employess, "We don't build products - We build DREAMS!"
That is our intention and our committment to YOU. Now....watch us grow - some more :)

The Invisible Bottle is now VISIBLE AGAIN!

In the late 1970's Ken Alfredson introduced a series of new effects under the name Magi-Fects. These innovative ideas captured the attention of magicians worldwide and many of them sold out quickly. Well, it's been nearly 40 years since that first item was produced.

With special permission from Ken Alfredson and good friend Krag Ryal, who was an intregral part of that company, we are pleased to announce the re-introduction of the Magi-Fects line of magic. We are painstakingly bringing each item back onto the market giving them updates and improvements.

Here is our first - The Invisible Bottle. THIS is a joy to use! You will love it and can be used repeatedly!
It's only $29.95 - affordable and highest quality manufactured here in our FAB Studios - of course it's AMERICAN MADE!

"The performer shows the audience a bottle - or does he? It is called "The Invisible Bottle" and he picks up a mug and proceeds to pour from the 'bottle'. . . and to everyone's amazement the mug is seen to VISIBLY FILL WITH LIQUID! If working behind a fold-up or night club style table you 'empty' the mug and then fill it again from "The Invisible Bottle". You could pretend to empty it each time in a pail or you may pretend to drink the contents each time. This may be repeated! The empty mug may be covered with and handkerchief and when it is removed the mug is full of liquid. Mug is made of plastic and measures 5" tall x 3 1/2" in diamater - Expertly built here in our studio. American MADE!

Comes complete with special mug, instructions and suggested ideas. Self working! Easy to do!"

Announcing. . . Elite Rings - FAB Magic

Okay, Okay, we give in :) - Comments and Emails are aplenty regarding the quality and availability of the Linking Rings that are currently being sold in the magic marketplace. 95% of them are from overseas. They have little or no "ring" to them and the chrome finish flakes off. We have been working on the idea of bringing out our own set of Linking Rings for the past five years but we were just waiting for the right time...NOW is that time!

Introducing our new "Elite Rings" - made in the USA by The FAB Magic Mfg. Company. We are biting the bullet so to speak and offering what we feel is the finest set of Linking Rings on the market. They are going to be available in 8", 10" and 12" sizes - nickel plated Chrome...not just a cheap finish - they will last forever. They will come in a set of eight along with a specially designed performance/carrying bag that will be sectioned off in three pockets so you can keep your 'key' ring and single rings separate from the others. Plus it will be a great way to transport them and keep them in great shape. THIS will be the set that you will use - THIS will be the set that will last you a lifetime.

FAB Elite Rings will be available December 1st - just in time for Christmas and they will be priced affordably!

Available ONLY from the world leader in magic manufacturing...FAB Magic!
